The Five Loaves,
Two Fish Challenge

Bring what you have. Watch what He does with it.

A boy handed Jesus five small loaves and two fish. Jesus blessed it, broke it, and five thousand people ate. We are asking our friends and family to bring what they have so that a Permanent Gospel Presence can be added on the east side of Tallahassee.

Organized by The Bridge Church 8915 Buck Lake Road To God Be The Glory

Why we are asking

For almost 6 years The Bridge Church has met in a borrowed room. We have shared the Gospel, baptized new believers, taught the Word week after week, fed families, sponsered two elementary schools and prayed for our neighbors from a space we have to set up and tear down every Sunday and Wednesday. God has SO been faithful in that room. Now He has given a piece of ground in front of us.

Nineteen and a quarter acres at 8915 Buck Lake Road — the fast-growing east side of Tallahassee, where hundreds of families are moving in and where there are few church homes waiting for many of them. Our goal is not a building. It is a Permanent Gospel Space: a room where the Bible is preached without apology, where children are taught to love Jesus, where the doors are open to the community every week of the year, and where the next generation of this city can hear the Good News for decades after we are gone. But we can't do this without God and we believe He is leading us to ask those who love the Gospel to join us and Him!

This challenge is our invitation to the people who love us and Jesus. You may not live in Tallahassee. You may never sit in one of these seats. But you can be part of what happens in this room. If you have five loaves and two fish, that is exactly what Jesus is asking for.

“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?”  … And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples… and they were filled.

John 6:9, 11 · ESV

How the challenge works

Five loaves. Two fish. One room built for the Gospel.

The boy did not have enough. That was never the point. He brought what was in his hands to the only One who could multiply it. Here is what we are asking you to put in His hands.

Five

Bring your five loaves

Give once, or make a commitment you can keep across the next three years. Small and faithful beats large and imagined every time.

Two

Hand it to two others

Send this page to two or three friends or family members who love you and love the Gospel. That is how five loaves start feeding five thousand.

One

Pray one prayer daily

Ask God for one thing: that this room would be full of people who did not know Jesus before they walked through the door.

Ways to bring what you have

Every amount below is built on fives and twos. None of them is the “right” one — give what is in your hands, and give it cheerfully.

$25A basket

The gift the crowd never saw coming. Twenty-five dollars, multiplied by hundreds of friends, buys real square footage.

$52Five & two

Our signature gift. Five loaves and two fish, given once, or once a month for as long as you are able.

$250A table

Enough to furnish part of a room where families will sit together and open a Bible on a Sunday morning.

$520A row of seats

Picture the people who will fill them. You will not know most of their names on this side of heaven.

$2,500A doorway

A visible, lasting piece of the building — a threshold thousands of people will walk through.

$5,200A cornerstone gift

The kind of gift that moves this from hope to blueprint. Spread it across three years if that helps.

What your gift is building

Questions we get asked

Why is it called the Five Loaves, Two Fish Challenge?
In John 6, a boy brought Jesus a small lunch — five barley loaves and two small fish. It was not nearly enough for the crowd. Jesus gave thanks for it anyway, and five thousand people were fed. The miracle did not start with abundance. It started with somebody willing to hand over what little he had.
I do not live in Tallahassee. Why would I give?
Because the gospel is not local, even when a church building is. The east side of Tallahassee is filling with families who have no church home. Your gift puts a permanent gospel witness in front of them long after this campaign is over.
Where exactly does my gift go?
Every dollar received through this challenge goes toward the property and building at 8915 Buck Lake Road — part of our broader To God Be The Glory campaign, a $3.8 million effort funded by initial gifts plus three-year commitments from 2026 through 2029.
Can I give monthly instead of all at once?
Yes, and many families do. You can set up a recurring gift through our online giving page, or fill out a three-year commitment so we can plan wisely.
Can I pray instead of give?
Please do — that is the most important line item in this campaign. You can also give us five names to pray for through our Five Names Before Us form.

Bring what you have

He is still the One who multiplies it.
